Pensioner’s Discounts

From the Committee

As you may know we have started to compile a list of all stores and organizations that offer some kind of discount service for pensioners. The list is available for download below and will be added to our new Resources Page and updated frequently.

At the moment the list we have is far from complete and we request your help in improving it.

The West Rand region is very large and the potential for a gigantic list of pensioner’s discounts is massive. If you know of any type of discount for pensioners being offered in any form please let us know so we can add to the list. Send your information to us by emailing or fill out the form on the Contact Us page of this website.

Remember this is an ongoing project and with your help should become a fantastic resource for all of us to use.

Jonathan Leeming at U3A West Rand

Well known author and conservationist Jonathan Leeming is the speaker for our next monthly meeting to be held as always at the NG Kerk Wilgespruit, (c/o Mimosa & Wag ‘n Bietjie Streets, Wilropark, Roodepoort) on Tuesday 14th August.

As a speaker Jonathan is well known for his unique style, enthusiasm and energetic personality. Jonathan’s presentations and lectures have been described by many as insightful, passionate and inspirational.

He has written the highly acclaimed books, Scorpions of Southern Africa, and a First Aid Guide to Spider Bites and Scorpion Stings, which have been described as milestones in venomous animal conservation.

Jonathan’s mission in life is to work towards a better understanding and tolerance of these misunderstood creatures through surveys, conservation projects and environmental education.

In his presentation, entitled Deadly Innovation, Jonathan will talk about the challenges of building a sustainable future by being open to new solutions.

Deadly Innovation explores how innovation often comes from the most unlikely of sources, why clutching on to outdated values and beliefs is holding us back, and how we can build a new world of innovation.
